Jon Pettis

Jon Pettis is a lawyer with the criminal division of Kerry Steigerwalt's Pacific Law Center. With over 11 years of experience working as a criminal defense attorney, Mr. Pettis has represented clients in cases ranging from simple misdemeanors to serious felonies that have been tried in both State and Federal courts. Mr. Pettis is a seasoned trial lawyer that has achieved dozens of successful verdicts for his DUI clients. Additionally, Mr. Pettis had achieved an outstanding record of success representing clients whose rights have been violated by the police.

Mr. Pettis is an expert DUI defense attorney well versed in field sobriety tests, police DUI procedures, the scientific aspects of DUI cases and explaining the common inaccuracies of chemical tests.

Mr. Pettis is an honors graduate of the University of California at Santa Cruz. He attended UCLA School of Law where he was a Moot Court award winner. Furthermore, Mr. Pettis has graduated twice from specialized programs at the National College for DUI Defense and is a proud member of the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers.

His experience, dedication, and countless hours spent in the courtroom make him a valuable asset to our DUI defense team and clients.

Marcus E. DeBose

Marcus E. DeBose is an attorney for the criminal law division of Kerry Steigerwalt's Pacific Law Center, handling cases including DUI and other serious criminal offenses. In 2002, Mr. DeBose obtained an acquittal on his first jury trial involving a client who was wrongfully accused of domestic violence. Since that time, Mr. DeBose has obtained several evidence suppression rulings, favorable jury verdicts and probation grants on both felony and misdemeanor criminal cases.

Mr. DeBose obtained his undergraduate degree at the University of Virginia, majoring in History and minoring in Spanish. During his time at the University of Virginia, Mr. DeBose participated in a history studies exchange program with the University of Valencia, in Valencia, Spain. Mr. DeBose speaks Spanish fluently.

Mr. DeBose attended the University of San Diego School of Law where he served as a member of the California State Appellate Oral Advocacy Team and a member of the Appellate Moot Court Board. Since 2001, Mr. DeBose has been a member of the California Bar. Additionally, Mr. DeBose is admitted to practice in the United States District Court for the Southern District of California.

Committed to giving back to the community through volunteer service, Mr. DeBose served as President of the Earl B. Gilliam Bar Association in 2006 and is currently an active member of the Mission Valley Rotary Club.

Terry Allen

An attorney for the criminal law division of our firm, Terry Allen handles a variety of cases including DUI defense. Formerly Mr. Allen has sat as Judge Advocate in the U.S. Marine Corps and Judge Pro Tempore in the Vista Court. Throughout his career, Mr. Allen has expertly handled misdemeanor and felony cases in Federal and State Courts in addition to Military Courts Martial.

Mr. Allen obtained his undergraduate degree from Baker University in Kansas and went on to study law at the University of Missouri at Kansas City School of Law. In 1969 Mr. Allen was admitted to practice law Missouri and in 1978 was admitted to practice law in California and Federal District Court.

Matthew Spiegel

Matthew Spiegel is a bilingual DUI defense attorney (English and Spanish) working in Kerry Steigerwalt's Pacific Law Center’s criminal law division. Mr. Spiegel finished his undergraduate education at the University of Arizona, earning a bachelor degree in economics. Mr. Spiegel then went on to earn his Law Degree from Thomas Jefferson School of Law in San Diego.

Mr. Spiegel has extensive experience in handling various types of misdemeanor and felony DUI cases.

Whitney Ryan

Whitney Ryan is an experienced DUI lawyer based out of our San Diego offices. As a DUI lawyer for the past 15 years, Ms. Ryan has handled thousands of criminal cases throughout San Diego County ranging from homicide to DUI.

Ms. Ryan provides DUI defense services for all types of cases including drug related DUI, excessive DUI and others. As a compassionate advocate for her clients, Ms. Ryan understands how difficult and stressful the legal process can be to the accused, which is why she is dedicated to ensuring that the rights and reputation of her clients are protected.
